Another Bad Haircut

What more can I say. You'd think that we would have learned by now not to mess with Roo's hair. It was long and the back was really long. We trimmed it and it looked good. But Daddy really wanted to trim the front. I said no. Daddy didn't listen. It was uneven. So I tried to even it and in that one snip, made it go from really bad to much much worse. A day or so later I took Roo to where I get my haircut and she did her best with the front. It's lopsided but she didn't want to go shorter since we like his hair on the longer side. Note to ourselves, stop messing with Roo's hair. He told me today that it looks nice but next time he wants to get it cut at his place, where he gets juice boxes, lollipops and of course candy canes. Next time should be this fall!

Bug's First Haircut

It makes me sort of sad that Bug had his first haircut today. It looks amazing and he cried the entire time but it means he's not a baby anymore. We went to Jenny's Barber Shop, the same place we go for Roo and Jenny cut his hair so quickly and perfectly and he just cried and cried. He took a break now and then from the crying to watch Roo get his haircut. His hair looks wonderful and he got a certificate and she put his first clippings in a little bag for us.

Roo was great getting his haircut. He wasn't thrilled at first but he knows that they give him candy and a juice box afterwards.

And we even took Baxter to get washed today. He has a nice shiny coat and nicely trimmed nails.

Now mommy needs a haircut!

New Do...New Pants

Yesterday mommy and Roo went out and about running a few errands.  Roo was really tired from running around with the girls all day Saturday and Sunday morning so he needed a little R&R.  In the morning we went to Wegman's to get a few things and then in the afternoon we did a little shopping.  After our shopping I asked Roo if he wanted to get his haircut.  He wasn't very interested but I convinced him that he needed it cut....er, more likely that he wanted ice cream after the haircut.  He was a champ and did great getting his haircut.  He said at one point as he picked up a piece of his cut hair 'hair broke.'  Very cute!  So now, Roo's had a total of 3 professional haircuts...we're making progress!

And, you all know how much I complain about the 2 pairs of pj shorts he wears all the time.  Well, I have successfully introduced a new pair!  It's so wonderful to see something different.  I'm going to go back to the website to see if they have any other patterns.  I purchased 2 new ones, but it would be awesome to rotate through more than 4 patterns on any given week.

Haircut #3

Roo hasn't had a haircut since we returned from vacation, last year.  So a couple of weeks ago, Dada used Love Bug's highchair to give Roo a haircut.  It actually looks pretty good, but I really miss his floppy hair.  Oh well, it'll grow out again, and it's not like Roo enjoys getting a haircut, so there's no real need to keep it short.  The only reason we cut it was to help him not get as hot outside.  So stay tuned for some pics of floppy Roo hair this winter!

Hello Spring!

This weekend we decided to enjoy the beautiful sunny spring weather and redo the landscaping in the front of the house.  We first went to Tumbleweed Gardens on Saturday to look at some trees.  When Love Bug and mommy arrived, Dada and Roo had picked out a beautiful Japanese Maple.  But that one tree would have cost the entire budget, so we didn't get it.  This morning we loaded up the whole family and went to Lowe's.  Roo decided to be a good helper and push the carts for us.  This made shopping take a bit longer and cause Dada to lose focus.  Even better, Roo was not the only 2 year old picking out plants for his family this morning!  Luckily, Mommy is a bit frugal and figured out that we could get all the plants we need for the cost of the 1 tree we looked at Saturday.  We spent the rest of the day planting.  Mommy was excited to use the truck to pull the azaleas out; that was fun!  Hours later, we completed our project and it looks great.  It's nice to see the pretty brick on the foundation, and to just see something new. We still need one more of the Emerald Vitae for the leftmost portion of the front to anchor that side, but for a single day, we did pretty good.

Oh, and we're taking Grandma's advice on the solids with Love Bug.  We figure, if we keep on trying he'll eventually open his mouth for the food.  No luck yet, but at least he's not crying about it anymore.   

Finally, take a look at Roo's hair.  He's a pretty cute floppy haired kid.  If you look back through the blog, you'll see that he hasn't had a haircut (at least not a professional one) since last May!  At this point it's hard to imagine what he would look like with short hair.  Oh, and please excuse his outfit, it's his Sunday best....ah yes, mommy would be happy if she never saw those shorts again :)
