Mother's Day Show

The preschool had a nice mother's day show for all the mom's at preschool today. It was really cute, the teachers read a nice description about each mom that the kids helped fill in. Roo's was great:

My mommy's name is (he got it right).

She is "23" year's old. (the age range for mom's today was 6 - 60 based on what the kids said)

She has "light black" hair and "brown green" eyes.

Her favorite food is "anything my daddy cooks."

I make my mommy happy when I'm "playing."

I like when my mommy and I "swing together outside."

And then he drew a picture of me! Very very cute.

After they read each child's paper, they sang a few songs. Roo was a riot, I thought for sure he would sing since he stood there so nicely for the readings. Nope, not at all, he hid behind the little girl standing next to him.

Once they were done, he was the first to break the order and said "I want to give my mom and hug and kiss," and ran over to me!

After the show, they had a few small gifts they had made for us, which were really nice, one of which I brought back to work with me.

It was really fun and I enjoyed seeing Roo during his school day. His teachers are so nice, he's really going to miss going to school this summer.

Karma Is...

I meant to post this 2 weeks ago when this happened because it was perfect karma for a 2 year old. Bug had a lollipop and was having a temper tantrum about something. During his tantrum, his lollipop got stuck in his hair. How's that for karma!

Snuggle Time

Every morning, Bug wakes up early. He's usually up before 0600, sometimes way too early like 0400 but on a good day is 0530. When he wakes up he stands on the end of his bed and cries until I hear him and come and get him. I'm not quite sure why he cries and have thought about telling him to start yelling for us to come. I'd rather wake up to his 2 year old yelling voice than crying. Anyway, I got in his room and get him and turn off his noise, yes he still sleeps with white noise, maybe another thing we need to work on. He hand me both of his blankies, his B doggie, his cup and makes sure he has a good nuk. I throw the blankies over my shoulder and once I pick him up he snuggles into my shoulder. I take him into our bedroom and put him down on the bed and he runs over and says good morning to daddy and gives him a kiss. While he's doing that, I fill his cup up with his morning coffee; his soy milk supplement, really...but you'd think it's his morning coffee. I open the doors to our armoire and daddy turns on Disney Junior. I get back in bed and bug usually snuggles in with me. He lays his head on my chest and I wrap my arms around him and sometimes hold one of his feet; when he's in a foot holding mood, we'll even switch which foot I'm holding. On a good day, he'll lay there for a long while and daddy and I will usually fall back to sleep. I've caught Bug falling back to sleep once in a while but when he startles awake, he gets a bit antsy, so it's usually better for him to stay awake. Buzz Lightyear sleeps in our room on a pile of pillows. Somewhere along the way in the morning Bug will ask for Buzz, so daddy gets Buzz and we resume snuggle positions. At some point Bug will switch and lay on daddy and I'll cover him with his blankets. During the week, Timmy Time is on a 0530, though sometimes they change the programming which gets confusing. When Timmy Time is over, Bug always says he wants more and I'll say to him we'll see what's on next, and the quiet time usually continues. This may very well be my favorite part of the entire day. We do our best to not rush through this time and sleep or relax and enjoy it as much as possible. There's really no better way to start your day! And on the weekends, sometimes we'll get a bonus....Roo!! Roo sleeps in....for those of you without kids, that means as late as 0830 but 0730 is pretty normal for him. Family snuggle time is awesome, I wouldn't trade it for anything, a good consolation prize for the early rising!!

Bug Ate Baked Banana

Bug ate baked banana and loved it!!! That's right not only did he love it, he didn't have any sort of immediate allergic reaction to it. I'm beyond excited! He's been asking for bananas at the grocery store and Dr. Wood had advised us to trial it at home baked into a bread. I made an amazing vegan banana bread and have included the link to the recipe http://www.theppk.com/2007/10/banana-bread/ . Maybe we'll let him try a bite of raw banana this weekend...we'll see.

Ladybug Cupcakes

One day Roo decided that I needed to make ladybug cupcakes. I decided to make them mini-ladybug cupcakes and they looked amazing; even daddy was impressed. Yum!

Dinner with Friends

The boys had fun earlier this week having dinner outside with their favorite neighbor friend. Love that they're all so close in age!

Camera Cord

The cord to transfer photos from my camera to the compute is missing. I put it in a safe place. I can bet that 1 of the 3 boys misplaced it. Most likely the oldest of the 3 boys in the home while he was on an organizing spree. I'll have to get a new one this weekend so I can upload pictures.
